Former Australian Captain Michael Clarke has opined that it was the negative mindset that pegged Australia back in the test series against India.

According to the media reports, in a recent statement, the former Captain Michael Clarke said that, “I thought we might have been a tad negative at certain stages throughout because we were scared to lose versus attack hard and look to win the game.”

“At the end of the day, whether we lost with 20 overs left in the game or on the last ball of the game, it didn’t matter. We had to win that game to win that trophy.”

He added that, “I sort of feel we should have approached the first ball of that game to the last ball of that game with a bit more of that attitude.”

India won the fourth test against Australia by three wickets with 18 balls left at the Gabba in Brisbane.

Rishabh Pant (89*) hit the winning runs after a superb top order show from Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara as India won the 4th Test by 3 wickets and claimed the series 2-1.

It was a historic series win for Team India. Youngsters delivered when it mattered, with Shubhman Gill and Rishabh Pant in the forefront.

Rishabh Pant also became the fastest Indian wicket-keeper batsman to score 1,000 Test runs.

Indian win the fourth test against Australia takes the team to the second place in ICC Test Team Rankings.

Team India also grabbed the first position in the World Test Championship points table while Australia slipped to No.3.

New Zealand sits atop the table with 118.44 points while India now has 117.65 points, overtaking Australia on 113 points.
