He said that he would select the final XI of the Rawalpindi Test on the last day and would change the team if necessary considering the pitch. The effort will be to win the series by winning the second test match against the Proteas.

Fawad Alam who came at number four hit the winning runs for the team at National Stadium in Karachi. Fawad Alam played a vital part in the game scoring a brilliant 109 in Pakistan’s first innings.

The Proteas side fell miserably in the spin trap laid by Pakistan on Day 4 of the first test. The visitors resumed play on 187/4 and things immediately got worse when Hasan Ali bowled night-watchman Maharaj with the first delivery of the day.

Chasing a target of 88 runs, South Africa’s Anrich Nortje took two quick wickets but Azhar Ali (31*) and Babar Azam (30) ensured that their team pursuits down the target without any final moment drama.
