President Alvi elated as Pakistan record victory over South Africa after 18 years

President Dr Arif Alvi has on Monday praised Pakistan cricket team’s stellar performance as they won the test match series against South Africa by 95 runs.

Taking to Twitter, the President also lauds the excellent performances by Hassan Ali and Rizwan too. He expressed his joy as the Green Shirts welcome the world of cricket to our beautiful country.

“Congratulations to our Cricket team for winning the series against South Africa. Excellent performances by Hassan Ali and Rizwan in this match too. Well fought South Africa. Pakistan now welcomes the world of cricket to our beautiful country,” the tweet read.

Earlier in a day, Pakistan record first Test series victory over South Africa at home after 18 years today.

The second Test in Rawalpindi was another excellent advertisement for Test cricket as Pakistan claimed victory to secure the series 2-0

South Africa looked in pole position to actually win this Test when the new ball was taken at 241 for 3. But then the new-ball magic from Hasan Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi rocked South Africa with the swing and turned tables after lunch.

Spinner Yasir Shah took the last wicket and sealed win against visitors. South Africa lost 7 for 33 runs after the new ball.

Pakistani right-arm pacer Hasan Ali remained the pick of the bowlers of this Test match, finishing with impressive figures of 5-60 to record his best match figures of 11-114 and help dismiss South Africa.

On the other hand, Captain Babar Azam also lauded his team’s victory against South Africa.
