Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Executive Wasim Khan denies the reports that Peshawar Zalmi threatened to boycott their first match in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 after members of their squad were quarantined.

Wasim Khan said in his statement that,

“Zalmi did not threaten to boycott the match,” Wasim confirmed while speaking to media, adding that players had met team owner Javed Afridi who also tested negative for coronavirus.

The statement from the PCB official came after the PSL administration allowed to integrate Zalmi’s skipper Wahab Riaz and head coach Darren Sammy with the team after they were quarantined due to COVID-19 violation before their opening match last week.

Earlier, just ahead of their opening match against Lahore Qalandars Peshawar Zalmi got a relief when Sammy and Riaz were allowed after the PCB accepted the team’s appeal regarding Friday’s biosecure breach.

PCB had said in a press release that,

“Appeal on a player and official guilty of breaching bio-secure bubble on Friday has been accepted.”
