The draft ceremony of the first edition of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) will take place on March 24 in the capital Islamabad.

KPL is all set to start on May 16^th in Muzaffarabad cricket stadium.

All the local players will be available to join in the inaugural edition of the league.

KPL president Arif Malik said in a statement that,

“We had different plans but due to the Covid-19 threat, we have shortened our plans. The player draft is set to be held in Islamabad on March 24. The venue has been finalized according to the choice of the players,”

“Muzaffarabad will host all the matches of the KPL till May 27. There will be double headers as well as a single match in a day,” Malik added.

150 players from all over the country will participate in the tournament and also available for the draft.

All the national players who were selected in PSL 6 will be available for the KPL draft.

When asked a question about the international players in KPL from Arif Malik he said,

“We hope the first edition of the league would be a real success. Like the Centre, the AJK government is also backing the league.”
