Match between Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators delayed by two hours

The 12th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad united has been delayed after IU confirms one of their players has tested positive for Coronavirus.

According to sources, one of the players of Islamabad United tests COVID-19 positive which resulted in match delay and will begin at 9:00 pm today.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that the match scheduled to begin at 7pm, has been delayed by two hours — and will start at 9pm.

The players who are currently at the hotel are awaiting the results of the rapid coronavirus tests.

In response to the development, Islamabad United confirmed that one of their players had tested positive, while all of the others players were cleared to play.

“One of our players, Fawad Ahmed tested positive for Covid and was immediately put in isolation 2 days ago. All other Islamabad United players & members have tested negative & have been cleared to play,” the franchise said on Twitter.

According to PCB protocol, the player tested positive, will remain in isolation until he returns with two negative results in 10 days time.
