The deadly Coronavirus outbreak has now affected the headquarters of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as its doors are shut on temporary basis.

According to the details, PCB has advised its staff to work from home as a precautionary measure after few members of the board tested positive for COVID-19.

The staff members are also advised to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Earlier, the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super league (PSL) has been called off due to the increasing Coronavirus cases among the national and international players.

In this regard, the PCB Chief Executive (CEO) Wasim Khan, had addressed a press conference and stated that today is a sad day for all the PSL fans and the management.

Wasim Khan had said, “It’s a very challenging day for us, cricket lovers, stakeholders, players and officials involved.”

“Biosecure bubble is all about trust and discipline. Building trust will take some time but we make sure this doesn’t happen again. Postponing PSL is a difficult moment for PCB and fans too but we PCB are resilient to make PSL6 possible again,” Wasim Khan had added.

He also maintained that the rising number of COVID-19 cases was a collective fault and it is not the time to blame anyone.

On the other hand, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB’s) medical panel Dr Sohail Saleem had resigned from his post.

This move came after the rules and regulations in the ‘bio-secure bubble’ were violated and resulted in the postponement of PSL 6.

According to sources, Dr Sohail has sent his resignation to the PCB chairman Ehsan Mani. “We are considering Dr Sohail’s resignation request,” PCB said.
