Shahid Afridi Shows Desire To Complete PSL 6 With Local, Young Players

Despite the challenging situation after today’s decision to put off the sixth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6, former captain Shahid Afridi feels like the tournament could have been completed even with only local/young players involved.

Taking to Twitter, Shahid Afridi expresses his views about the postponement of PSL 6, he wrote, “Despite a challenging situation, I feel the PSL could have been completed even with only local/young players involved. PSL is all about nurturing new talent. The tournament was very entertaining and provided quality cricket to fans around the world.”

In another tweet, the legendary cricketer heaped praise for the entertaining tournament, saying “IA it will come back stronger than ever”.

“I fully back the PSL and IA it will come back stronger than ever. And please remember corona is still around, please take care and follow all SOPs for your and your loved ones health,” the other tweet read.

He also urged his fans and others to take good care of their loved ones as the novel Coronavirus is still around.

Earlier in the day, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced to put off the sixth edition of PSL after a rising number of Coronavirus cases among the players.

In this regard, PCB Chief Executive (CEO) Wasim Khan, addressed a press conference said, “It’s a very challenging day for us [PCB], cricket lovers, stakeholders, players and officials involved.”

He also maintained that the rising number of COVID-19 cases was a collective fault and it is not the time to blame anyone.
