Ex-captain Shahid Afridi said that he was surprised to see Cricket South Africa (CSA) let its players choose Indian Premier League (IPL) over national duty during the recent series played with Pakistan.

Shahid said in his statement that,

Surprising to see @OfficialCSA allowing players to travel for IPL in the middle of a series.”

Many important players including Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, and Lungi Ngidi left the three-match ODI series in the middle to contribute to the Indian domestic T20 tournament.

He further added to his statement that,

“It is sad to see T20 leagues influencing international cricket. Some rethinking needs to be done!!”

Earlier, ex-Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi and former skipper have praised the innings of Babar Azam against South Africa in Centurion.
