Legendary Portugal Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo’s armband, which he threw on the ground angrily after the match against Serbia, has been auctioned at a charity for $75,000.

According to the details, Cristiano Ronaldo’s blue armband was put up for bidding to gather funds for medical treatment for a 6-month-old boy suffering from spinal muscular atrophy.

Note that during the match against Serbia, the Portuguese star walked off the field after his injury-time goal was disallowed.

While moving forward before the final whistle, he had angrily thrown his armband near the touchline. After the match, it was picked up and given to the charity group.

However, Ronaldo was also bashed for his rude actions and he might face a FIFA ban due to his angry display.

Earlier, the footballer had surpassed the Brazilian legend Pele’s goal tally as he marked a hat trick in Juventus’ 3-1 victory over Cagliari.

Brazil’s great Pele had felicitated Cristiano Ronaldo for ‘breaking his record’ in a 3-1 Serie A victory over Cagliari on March 15.

Pele took to Instagram and had congratulated the footballer saying: “Congratulations on breaking my record of goals in official matches”.

“I admire you a lot, I love watching you play and this is no secret to anyone. “My only regret is not being able to give you a hug today.”

He added, “Cristiano life is a solo flight. Each makes his own journey. And what a beautiful journey you are having!”
