Chennai Super Kings bowling coach L. Balaji and a member of the team’s service team tested positive for COVID-19 amid a growing list of infected people at IPL 2021, a tournament that has already seen the KKR-RCB game from Ahmedabad rescheduled.

It is not known how they contracted the virus inside the bio-balloon, last RT-PCR tests. However, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan tested negative for the rapid antigen test and subsequently for the more conclusive RT-PCR test.

According to the standard IPL operating procedures, Balaji and the service team member will have to isolate themselves outside the team balloon for 10 days and will be able to re-register after obtaining two negative results.
