Pakistan team captain Rana Waheed has said that victories against Chile and Canada in practice matches ahead of the FIH Men’s Junior World Cup has boosted the team’s confidence.

The Green Shirts defeated Chile and Canada with a scoreline of 3-0 and 1-0, respectively, in the two practice matches. With two wins under their belt, they look confident ahead of their contest against Germany on Wednesday.

“Our match with Germany is very important as it will set the tone for us for the rest of the event,” he said. “Players put up a good show in practice matches and will play well in the remaining of the tournament as well.”

Pakistan, the winners of the inaugural edition of the event, have been placed in Group D alongside Germany, Argentina and Egypt.

The tournament will kick off on November 24 in Odhisa, India while the final of the campaign will be played on December 05.
