Currently depleted Ashton Agar was lost to Australia after he tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, just hours before the commencement of a three-match one-day international series against Pakistan in Lahore. From the original roster of 16, Australia currently has only 13 fit players, and another illness or injury would make it tough for them to continue. Brendon Wilson, the team’s physiotherapist, also tested positive, Cricket Australia stated in a statement, throwing him and Agar out of the series. Josh Inglis, the reserve wicketkeeper, tested positive on Monday, while Mitchell Marsh, the all-rounder, has injured his hip and will miss the opening match. Following an epidemic of COVID among the players after they landed in Pakistan in December, the West Indies were forced to cancel a series. On their first visit to Pakistan since 1998, the Australians will also play one Twenty20 international in Lahore.
