Abdur Razzak, member of Bangladesh’s selection panel, will work as a spin consultant for the High Performance Unit during their forthcoming camp, which begins on May 14.

After retiring from all forms of cricket on June 27, last year, the veteran left-arm spinner joined the national selection panel, but this will be his first stint as a coach.

“If all goes according to plan, I will be joining the HP camp,” Razzak told a foreign sports website on Monday.

“I’m not switching my concentration to coaching right now,” he explained, “but I feel like I have a lot of experience that I can share with the young boys, and if they benefit from it, that would be really fulfilling, and I think it will be an interesting experience for me as well.”

Bangladesh Cricket Board’s High Performance Unit head, Naimur Rahman, said that they have sought Razzak because they are currently unable to secure the services of any foreign spin expert.

“We have yet to find a strong spin coach or consultant for our High Performance Unit, therefore we are considering include Razzak in the HP camp because we know he can share his experience with our youngsters,” Naimur explained.

“I am confident that if he can manage his time well, he will do an excellent job, and his mentoring will undoubtedly assist the lads in honing their skills.”

BCB is expected to deploy national team hitting Coach Jamie Siddons at the HP camp if he is available, according to the website.

Toby Radford, head coach of the HP Unit, is due to arrive in Dhaka on June 1 and will be in charge of the batsmen’s development, while Champaka Ramanayke will be in charge of the pace bowling unit.
