Belinda Bencic wins WTA Charleston tournament

Belinda Bencic of Switzerland won the WTA Charleston tournament in three sets over Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur.

In a two-hour-and-35-minute match, the 25-year-old prevailed 6-1 5-7 6-4.

On her Twitter handle Benic wrote: “It’s a CLAY COURT title. So happy with my week here in Charleston.”

Bencic has six WTA titles and is the first Swiss woman to win the tournament since Martina Hingis in 1999.
