Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered two consecutive defeats in the ongoing India Premier League (IPL) as Evin Lewis’ 55-run knock led the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) successfully completed the huge target of 211 with six wickets still in hand.

Lucknow won the toss and decided to bowl first. However, the bowlers were smashed after CSK batsmen Robin Uthappa (50), Moeen Ali (35) Shivam Dube (49) played explosive innings.

In reply, Lucknow batters were also not going easy on CSK bowlers after opening batters KL Rahul (40) and Quinton de Kock (61) provided their team with a rollicking 99-run opening stand.

Dwaine Pretorius dismissed Rahul, and Manesh Pandey (5) was sent back seven runs after being dismissed. De Kock, on the other hand, continued to carve out runs, while Lewis emerged as the game’s deciding factor.

Pretorius dismissed De Kock for 139 runs, but Lewis continued to thrash the CSK bowlers, scoring those runs in just 23 balls, including three sixes and six fours.

As Lucknow chased down the big total in 19.3 overs, Ayush Badoni (19) hammered two sixes.

Dwaine Pretorius (2) and Dwayne Bravo (1) were good for CSK since they didn’t give up many runs. Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, Mukesh Choudhary, and Shivam Dube all had economy rates above ten.
