Raghu Iyer, CEO of the Lucknow Super Giants, was one of three persons wounded in a minor accident while travelling with the team from Mumbai to Pune before of their IPL 2022 match against Punjab Kings on Friday, April 29.

Raghu Iyer, Gautam Gambhir’s aide, and another person were in a car following the team bus to Pune when they were involved in a traffic accident.

According to local news, the three people were injured but are now safe.

On Friday, Lucknow Super Giants, one of IPL 2022’s two new franchises, will face Punjab Kings at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

On April 24, Lucknow played Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium in their final match.

The RP Sanjiv Goenka Group’s Lucknow Super Giants are a strong contender to make the IPL 2022 play-offs.

KL Rahul-led club started their season with a loss to fellow newcomers Gujarat Titans, but after shaking off that setback, they went on a three-match winning streak.

Lucknow has struggled to maintain consistency since then. They were defeated by the Mumbai Indians in their next encounter after losing to Rajasthan Royals on April 10.

Lucknow was defeated by Mumbai in their second meeting with the 5-time winners at the Wankhede Stadium after losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore.

KL Rahul has been in fine form with the bat, despite their inconsistency. The Lucknow captain has 368 runs in eight matches, including two hundreds.
