The Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) initiative to renovate and prepare new and enhanced pitches around the country ahead of the 2018 domestic season is in full gear at various facilities.

It should be noted that following the conclusion of the series against Australia, PCB began upgrading the National Stadium in Karachi and the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore first.

In a video posted on the PCB’s official Twitter account, it can be seen that construction work for the new pitches is underway at several facilities across Pakistan.

“As part of PCB’s efforts to create best possible playing facilities across the country, the relaying and upgradation of pitches is underway on more than 40 grounds ahead of the upcoming domestic cricket season,” the tweet read.

It’s worth noting that PCB received a lot of flak for their poor pitching on their home tour of Australia. Ramiz Raja, the chairman of the PCB, has promised to develop new pitches for the forthcoming season, which would see major teams such as New Zealand, England, and the West Indies visit the country twice.
