The Wimbledon organizers have allowed players who have not been inoculated against the Covid-19 to compete in this year’s event, which may come as welcome news for Serbian tennis great Novak Djokovic and other unvaccinated players.

According to Sky Sports, Sally Bolton, the All England Club’s Chief Executive, spoke out over the decision.

 “The requirements set out by the government to enter the UK do not include mandatory vaccination, therefore whilst of course, it is encouraged, it will not be a condition of entry to compete at the Championships this year,” he said.

It should be recalled that Djokovic has already stated this year that if he is compelled to get the vaccine, he will be willing to boycott the events.

Novak Djokovic, the current Wimbledon champion, was unable to compete in this year’s Australian Open due to a vaccination issue, but the 34-year-old superstar will now be allowed to defend his title this summer thanks to the Wimbledon organizers’ decision.
