Arsenal’s men’s and women’s managers, Mikel Arteta and Jonas Eidevall, have renewed their contracts with the club.

Arteta’s new contract extends until the end of the 2024-25 season, and he was appointed in December 2019.

Eidevall joined the London club last summer and has extended his deal through the 2023-24 season.

The agreements provide “stability and clarity for the future,” according to Arsenal director Josh Kroenke, whose father Stan owns the club.

Arteta has led his team to fourth place in the Premier League as they attempt to qualify for the Champions League.

“We want to take the club to the next level and compete with the best teams in the world,” the Spaniard stated.

“We have to be able to evolve the team, improve our players, improve all departments, generate even more connection with our fans, improve the atmosphere at the Emirates, be able to recruit top, top talent and the best people for this club to drive this project to that level in order to do that,” he said.

Eidevall’s team is in contention for the Women’s Super League title heading into Sunday’s final game, one point behind leaders Chelsea.

“It’s fantastic,” the Swede added. “That allows me to continue working for a club that I adore, to be among people I adore, and to be able to do things with them, so I’m really looking forward to it.”

Added Josh Kroenke: “Mikel’s dedication and enthusiasm are evident to all. We’re convinced that as time goes on, he’ll get us back to fighting for the game’s top titles.”

“Jonas, on the other hand, has enjoyed an outstanding start to his career in England. He’s done an outstanding job with the team, and we’re still in contention for the championship this weekend.”

“We are certain that he will lead us forward in the coming years.”
