In January 2023, the Chicago Bulls and the Detroit Pistons will play an NBA game at Accor Stadium in Paris.

The game will be the first to be held in Europe since the Milwaukee Bucks and Charlotte Hornets met in Paris in 2020.

Due to Covid-19 constraints, a follow-up in Paris in 2021 was canceled.

Since the first match in Tokyo in 1990, this will be the 34th match held outside of the United States and Canada.

For decades, pre-season exhibition games have been held all around the world.

The match in Paris is between “two of the most historic franchises in the NBA,” according to Ralph Rivera, the NBA’s managing director for Europe and the Middle East.

“Basketball and NBA are ideally positioned for sustained expansion in France for years to come, with Paris hosting the Summer Olympics in 2024,” he said.
