The head coach of the national hockey team apologized for accepting responsibility for feeding the 12th player in the crucial match against Japan in the Asia Cup Hockey Tournament 2022 and for losing the precious goal.

In his video message, the head coach of the national team Siegfried Ekman said that the match against Japan was changing every minute, and there was a big shortcoming on the part of the team management.

At the same time, he said that the players knew how long to stay on the field and which player had to come off the field.

“As a coach, I accept responsibility for that, because of this shortcoming we have not been able to qualify for the World Cup,” Ekman said.

The national team coach said he hoped the team would play well in the Commonwealth Games.

“Pakistani fans are also depressed. The twelfth player’s mistake was not a blender. We are disappointed to be out of Asia Cup Final Four and World Cup,” said Siegfried Ekman.

He said that he lost only one match in the event and fell behind by a one-goal margin.

Siegfried Ekman said that when I came, Pakistan hockey was on the decline, things would not get better so soon.

He also said that we get fewer matches, 35 to 40 games should be played annually, and getting matches will give experience to our players.
