French Open: Pliskova survives scare; reaches round two

Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic advanced to the second round of the French Open despite a scare in the first round.

Pliskova came back from a set and a break down to beat Tessah Andrianjafitrimo of France 2-6 6-3 6-1.

Danielle Collins of the United States will join her in the next round as she recovered from two service breaks in the second set to overcome Bulgaria’s Viktoriya Tomova 6-0 6-4.

In the meanwhile, Jelena Ostapenko defeated Lucia Bronzetti 6-1 6-4.
