La Rochelle will play in their second Champions Cup final in as many years after Ihaia West scored a late try to break Racing 92’s resistance.

Racing took the lead after a Nolann Le Garrec penalty and a Virimi Vakatawa try, but Gregory Alldritt scored just before halftime to cut the margin.

After the break, La Rochelle were awarded a penalty try, and Racing’s Camille Chat and Cedate Gomes Sa were sin-binned.

La Rochelle won by two points after West scored late in the game.

The La Rochelle fly-half had missed three kicks earlier in the game, but got the final ball to dive over and finish the game with the clock running down.
