All-Star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum finished sixth overall in voting for the 2022 Kia Most Valuable Player award, receiving 8 fourth-place votes and 19 fifth-place votes for a total of 43 points from a panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters.

Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets (875 total points) won the award, followed by Joel Embiid of Philadelphia 76ers (706 points), Giannis Antetokounmpo of Milwaukee Bucks (595 points), Devin Booker of  Phoenix Suns (216 points), and Luka Doncic of Dallas Mavericks (146 total points).
