The PCB has not officially transferred the three-match series to Multan. It is slated to take place at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi from June 8 to 12.

Despite the fact that the PCB has begun preparations for hosting the West Indies at the Multan Cricket Stadium after getting verbal orders, insiders say it would not make any public declaration about the change of venue until it receives written instructions from the provincial government.

Meanwhile, the PCB confirmed that the West Indies series’ national camp would be placed in Lahore rather than Rawalpindi. The camp will begin on June 1 and end on June 4.

The Pakistan team will depart on June 5 for either Rawalpindi or Multan, while the West Indies team will arrive in Pakistan in the early hours of June 6. As a result, the newly-emerging scenario gives the PCB little time to make a final decision on the visiting team’s voyage plan.

Because security measures for an international series are coordinated by the federal and provincial governments, incumbent PCB chairman Ramiz Raja is expected to face a difficult task with the change in leadership at both the provincial and federal levels.

Ramiz, a former Pakistan opener, was chosen PCB chairman in September last year under the tenure of former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) president Imran Khan.

Following a no-confidence vote in Parliament, Shahbaz Sharif, the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), a fierce political foe of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was elected as the country’s prime minister. Rana Mashood, a senior player in the ruling party, told the media earlier this month that Ramiz should step down since the next administration would have its own chairman.
