PCB likely to play tri-nation series ahead of T20 WC

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) received a formal invitation from New Zealand Cricket (NZC) to play the tri-nation series ahead of the T20 World Cup later this year.
The PCB is considering accepting the invitation as it will help players gear up for the World Cup, according to a PCB official.
NZC put forward the proposal during the ICC conference. The other team offered to play in the series apart from Pakistan was Bangladesh.
Ahead of the tri-nation series, the Tigers will travel to Australia for a week-long training camp where they will play practice matches against the local sides in September.
The dates for the series are yet to be decided. However, it is most likely to be scheduled between late September and early October.
The ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to kick off on October 16, with Super 12s to start on October 22.
Pakistan will open its World Cup campaign with the first match against arch-rivals India on October 24.
It is to be noted that the Green Shirts thrashed India by 10 wickets in the last year’s opening game.
