Devin Haney has quickly established himself as a strong figure in the boxing arena, and he appears to be just getting started.

After winning seven National titles, Haney turned pro at the age of seventeen. Haney began his professional career in Mexico, where he won the WBC Youth lightweight title in 2017. In 2019, Haney defeated Antonio Moran for the interim WBC lightweight title. Haney, who was promoted to champion, has successfully defended the title four times. His most recent fight was in December, when he defeated Joseph Diaz by unanimous decision.

Haney will defend his WBC championship against George Kambosos Jr. on June 4 (June 5 in Australia), who will simultaneously be defending his WBA, IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight crowns. The fight will take place in Australia’s Marvel Stadium.

For the fight against Kambosos, Haney informed Fight Hype that he will accept less money. According to Boxing Scene, a rematch is part of the arrangement between the two boxers. That is, if Haney wins and the rematch takes place in Australia once more. Haney indicated that he was willing to accept a cash deal similar to what Vasiliy Lomachenko was given to fight Kambosos before the fight was cancelled.

SNAC, a nutritional supplement brand, has sponsored Haney. Prior to his fight with Kambosos, he was also photographed wearing Dolce & Gabbana.

Haney is a frequent user of social media. He has over 1.2 million Instagram followers, 161.9k Twitter followers, and over 12K Facebook fans.

Haney has done a lot of charitable work in his native state of Texas. Haney has previously fed homeless young adults at Houston’s Covenant House Texas. Haney has also spoken with young children from the Washington Community Center in an effort to steer them in the right direction. He had recently expressed an interest in starting his own youth centre.
