Hartley gets 6th successive pole for Toyota at Le Mans

They lapped with a best season of three minutes and 24.408 seconds.

Japan’s Kamui Kobayashi, who took post last year in 3:23.900, was denied a fifth in six years and needed to make due with second in the number seven Toyota in the wake of lapping 0.177 more slow than Hartley.

“It’s a unimaginable inclination. I was prepared for it the year before. Please accept my apologies for Kamui who needed his fifth shaft position, yet there you go,” said Hartley, a Le Mans victor in 2017 and 2020 with Porsche and afterward Toyota.

The number seven vehicle won last year with Kobayashi, Britain’s Mike Conway and Argentine Jose Maria Lopez who stay in the setup.
