James Taylor has resigned as the England and Wales Cricket Board’s head scout. The 32-year-old was part of the selection panel that chose England’s first Test team of the summer, with new captain-coach duo Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum. Though,  Taylor, who was forced to stop from playing at the age of 26 due to a heart issue,  selected as a selector under Ed Smith in 2018

Last year, he was named leader of the scouting network when former managing director Ashley Giles fired Smith and replaced him with prior head coach Chris Silverwood.  During that time, we had several incredible moments that I will never forget. The moment is ideal for me to pursue other chances, and I’m looking forward to it.”

“James Taylor has been a fantastic servant to English cricket both as a player and as a good administrator over the last four years,” Taylor said , who is presently chairing selection on an interim basis.
