Johnson and Reed among four LIV golf players make U.S. Open cut

- The U.S. Open field this year included individuals from the Saudi-financed LIV golf series.
- None of the LIV players were in preferred shape compared to the three-over cut line.
- Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed were among those who were at one over for the week.
Johnson and Patrick Reed driving the way while Phil Mickelson headed home early, just four of the 15 LIV golf players.
They began the current week’s U.S. Open took care of business on Friday.

“I really felt like I played much preferable today over I did yesterday,” said previous world number one Johnson. “Simply didn’t hit a great deal of great putts. Simply nothing would go in. That is the distinction, truly.”
The other two LIV golf players to take care of business are 2020 U.S. Open boss Bryson DeChambeau and Englishman Richard Bland.
Mickelson everything except fixed his destiny after an initial eight-over-standard 78 yet made it official when he returned a 73 on Friday that left him at 11 over on the week at The Country Club and close to the lower part of the field.

“I partook in the week. Wish I had played better,” six-time U.S. Open second place Mickelson, who didn’t converse with journalists, said in a record given by the USGA.
Among the other eminent LIV golf players who missed the cut are 2017 Masters champion Sergio Garcia, 2010 British Open victor Louis Oosthuizen and world number 33 Kevin Na.
