Notts Outlaws’ chances of reaching the Vitality Blast quarter-finals are looking remote after Leicestershire Foxes avenged their crushing home setback against their East Midlands rivals three weeks ago with a 47-run triumph.

Alex Hales made 55 off 43 balls, but no other batsman made more than 12 in a woeful performance by the home side after the Foxes had totalled 170 from their 20 overs.

Samit Patel hit 300 wickets in this format, but his feat was little more than a footnote as the Foxes won their third straight game to keep their qualifying chances alive.
