Joe Cullen and James Wade are the underdogs in tonight’s Premier League Play-Off semi-finals, but both are confident that they can surprise their opponents.

On Monday night, debutant Cullen will face defending champion Jonny Clayton at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, while Wade will face five-time champion Michael van Gerwen.

Clayton defeated Cullen in the final of the 16 mini-tournaments in this event, but the Yorkshireman had beaten the Welshman the week before to win Night 15.

Cullen knows what to expect from Clayton because the Rockstar and the Ferret are friends, and he believes he will be in the final if he performs at his best.

‘I’ve always believed I was made for the Premier League, and I believe I’ve validated my place by reaching the Play-Offs,’ Cullen added.

‘My goal when I was selected for the Premier League was to make it to Finals Night.’ ‘I’m already there, and I’ll be ready.’ This year, I’ve beaten Jonny in a few of huge games. He knows what I’m capable of, and I know what he’s capable of, so it should be a great night if we both bring our A-game.’

Wade faces a difficult task in Van Gerwen, but he just defeated the Dutchman 10-4 at the Nordic Darts Masters, so he will be unfazed when he walks to the stage in Germany.
