On the fourth day of the second and final Test in St. Lucia, West Indies wasted little time in completing a 10-wicket victory over Bangladesh despite the fact that more than five hours were lost to the weather.

The home team quickly claimed the final four wickets despite an entertaining, unbeaten 60 by Nurul Hasan to dismiss the visitors for 186 in their second innings after they had resumed in the already precarious position of 132 for six due to the frustration of torrential overnight showers that left a sodden outfield and delayed play until mid-afternoon.

That left the formality of scoring the 13 runs needed for victory in less than three overs for another comprehensive victory and a 2-0 sweep of the series up to skipper Kraigg Brathwaite and opening partner John Campbell.

After winning the series finale against England in Grenada three months prior, the West Indies’ winning streak in Test matches now stands at three games.

Within minutes of the game starting, Alzarri Joseph had Mehidy Hasan Miraz caught behind fending at a lifting delivery, allaying any worries of being thwarted by lower-order resistance from Bangladesh.

Nurul, who made an impression with a second innings century in the first Test loss by seven wickets in Antigua a week earlier, appeared to switch into white ball mode with a series of spectacular blows. His uncontested half-century came off just 50 balls and was adorned with six fours and two sixes.

Even so, the wicketkeeper-batsman could do nothing to stop his teammates from losing their lives. Jayden Seales removed Ebadot Hossain and Shoriful Islam, and Khaled Ahmed was run out by a direct hit from Campbell to the non-end striker’s to end yet another generally feeble Bangladeshi batting effort.
