Shericka Jackson won the Diamond League in Rome, with Dina Asher

England’s Dina Asher-Smith completed third in the 200m at the Rome Diamond League as Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson won in front of Elaine Thompson-Herah.
Jackson won in a season’s-best 21.91 seconds, with Olympic top dog Thompson-Herah completing in 22.25.
Asher-Smith, who will shield her reality title in the United States one month from now, was not far behind in 22.27 – her best time this season.
American Allyson Felix, in her last season before retirement, was seventh.
Bahamian Shaunae Miller-Uibo was fourth in a field stacked with Olympic bosses, with Britain’s Beth Dobbin 10th in 23.36 at the Stadio Olimpico.
In the 1500m, Olympic silver medallist Laura Muir, proceeding with her return from a back physical issue, completed third shortly 4.93 seconds.

Muir stayed up with champ Hirut Meshesha and Axumawit Embaye, who completed second, yet didn’t have the speed to surpass the Ethiopians on the last straight as they went too far in 4:03.79 and 4:04.53 separately.

Jemma Reekie’s 2:00.28 was enough for 10th in a 800m race won by American Olympic boss Athing Mu in 1:57.01 – a world-driving time this season.
Jazmin Sawyers was seventh in the long leap with 6.61m as Ukraine’s Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk won with 6.85m.
In a non-Diamond League occasion at a similar arena, Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake came fifth in a season’s-best 20.59 seconds as American Kenneth Bednarek won in 20.01, likewise his best of the time.
