Pakistan’s javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem
Friday at the Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, the Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem qualified for the final of the men’s javelin throw at the World Athletics Championships with a season-best throw of 81.71 metres.
Details indicate that Arshad became the first Pakistani to advance to the final of the Athletics Championships after placing fourth in Group B with his third attempt at the throw.
Defending champion Anderson Peters of Grenada led the men’s javelin qualification statistics with a throw of 89.91 metres, while India’s Neeraj Chopra claimed the second position with a throw of 88.39 metres.
In contrast, Germany’s Julian Webber (87.28m) and the Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch (85.50m) were the other two competitors who surpassed the competition’s automatic qualifying mark of 83.50m.
On July 23, Arshad Nadeem will compete alongside eleven other qualifiers in the men’s javelin throw final.
