Award-winning basketball star Kyrie Irving is also known for saying questionable things off the court. The NBA player, who has C, posted a video clip of far-right talk show presenter Alex Jones shouting about the “New World Order” on Thursday.

A young Jones cautions viewers in the video he posted to Instagram about the government’s alleged goal to “Basically, when it comes to your health, [become] God. And then we are essentially pushed into their system by them spreading diseases, infections, and plagues upon us.”

Many people have attacked Irving for his contentious views on the COVID vaccine and for allegedly spreading false information about health during the pandemic. He was benched by the Nets last year, according to Newsweek, because he wouldn’t take the shot.

Irving may have bizarre COVID beliefs, but he has also promoted a number of other conspiracies. The NBA player’s personal background and some of his more outlandish beliefs are shown below.

Irving has criticized what he believes to be unreliable depictions of dinosaurs. In a 2017 interview, he claimed that in order to generate “images of what they think [dinosaurs] should look like], specialists “get one bone and then build up 98 percent of it digitally.”

Irving claimed in a 2017 piece that he thought President John F. Kennedy was killed in 1963 because he wanted to “destroy the bank cartel in the world,” according to The Boston Globe. He asserted that the Federal Reserve was involved in the scheme and that the CIA had sought to “employ Jamaicans” to kill the legendary reggae musician Bob Marley.

In the same year, Irving admitted on a podcast that he doesn’t think the Earth is round.

ESPN said that he declared, “The Earth is flat.” The Earth is flat, and it is just in front of us.

But a few months later, he seemed to try to retract the bold statement, telling Newsweek at the time that he actually wanted to encourage people to “conduct [their] own research” regarding the nature of our world.

Irving said, “Our educational system is deficient. “Throughout so much time, history has altered.”

Despite his refusal to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, Irving has resisted the notion that he is anti-vaccination. Nevertheless, some far-right activists have backed him as a result of his remarks regarding vaccine requirements.

The NBA star openly backed the Standing Rock water protectors’ protest against the building of a pipeline in 2016.

Irving tweeted in November 2016: “My prayers and thoughts are with everyone demonstrating at Standing Rock.” I stand by each of you.

According to Cleveland.com, in addition to his basketball prowess, Irving also plays the baritone sax and has performed in “his high school production.” He also likes to read, dance, and sing.

Azurie Elizabeth, Irving’s daughter, was born in 2015. He belongs to the Standing Rock Sioux tribe as a recognized member.

A plant-based diet is now apparently what the basketball prodigy is eating. He also said that he observes Ramadan last year.

According to Yahoo! Sports, he stated, “For me, in terms of my faith and what I believe in, being part of the Muslim community, being committed to Islam, and also just being committed to all races, cultures, and religions, just having an understanding and respect.” I simply want to lay that foundation.
