Netherlands edged closer to a place in the Super 12s at the Men’s T20 World Cup after a nervy five-wicket victory over Namibia.

Bas de Leede hit an unbeaten 30 from 30 balls to help the Netherlands over the line for their second win of the tournament with three balls to spare.

The 8^th ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is set to be the biggest and the best yet, with 16 teams playing 45 matches in seven Australian cities between 16 October and 13 November.

Netherlands openers Vikramjit Singh and Max ODowd scored 39 and 35 runs, respectively, to help the Netherlands defeat Namibia by five wickets in their Group A encounter at Simonds Stadium in Geelong on Tuesday. JJ Smit took two wickets for Namibia. Choosing to bat first, Netherlands faced an early wicket loss, but Jan Frylinck’s 43-run effort helped Namibia to a respectable total of 121/6 in 20.0 overs. Bas de Leede took two wickets for the Netherlands. Both teams have started their contest with a win. Namibia defeated Sri Lanka by 55 runs, while the Netherlands defeated the United Arab Emirates by three wickets.
