Brazil and Argentina are the favourites to win the FIFA World Cup, according to Klinsmann
Jurgen Klinsmann, a former German and U.S. national coach, believes Argentina and Brazil will manage the uncertainty associated with the 2022 FIFA World Cup better than others.
The 58-year-old said in an interview that “Brazil has played a very successful qualification campaign and, like Argentina, has the feeling of having to prove they can do better than in the previous World Cups,”
Regarding Argentina, Klinsmann anticipates that superstar Lionel Messi would set lofty goals given that the 35-year-old will likely be competing in his final big tournament of his career.
The Qatar competition will present unanticipated obstacles to the participating teams. The tournament in Qatar is demanding up to this point unknown surprises for the teams as it is played out under these circumstances amid a running season and in winter, the 1990 world champion added. “We can’t evaluate at present and I am, for some reason, sure Brazil and Argentina will get along best.”
The 1996 European champion claimed that both South American countries are in excellent health. According to the former Bayern coach, if Cristiano Ronaldo can put his team’s struggles this season with Manchester United behind him, Portugal could emerge as the tournament’s surprise if Ronaldo can put those struggles behind him.
“If there is a surprise, I guess it might be Portugal,” he said.
According to the former Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan striker, Brazil and Argentina are ready to end the string of European titles from the past four championships.
The team’s first group games are crucial to its performance in Qatar. In regards to the German team, Klinsmann is forecasting a tight competition to get the team’s newly-formed defence as only a short period of one week is available to get in condition. “A win from the start can take you to something and lessen the weight on your shoulders.”
The image of usually performing well when a major tournament is on has been destroyed by the poor showing at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
According to Klinsmann, Germany’s exhibition match against Japan could provide the first responses.
Germany has a chance to start over at the 2022 competition after struggling since winning the trophy in 2014, according to Xinhua.
The game is far from easy for the team led by national coach Hansi Flick because of Japan’s recent growth.
The German team’s capacity to manage a very brief preparation time of only one week will determine the outcome.
“Other teams have the same problem, but Germany always used the weeks in advance to develop a special team spirit giving them an advantage.”
