Lionel Scaloni, coach of Argentina, and Nicolas Tagliafico, defender for Argentina, have both rejected that their team was unsatisfactory victors in their action-packed and incident-filled quarterfinal triumph over The Netherlands.

Tagliafico has defended his conduct as well as the actions of his teammates, implying that similar incidents may occur in the future.

“The world of football is full of unpredictable occurrences like that; we are not machines.” The intensity of the feelings reached a peak.

“It has occurred in the contests that came before. It is very likely that this will occur once again. This was a match between two teams competing for a spot in the World Cup quarterfinals,” he went on to say.

After advancing over the Netherlands on penalties, Argentina will play Croatia in the first World Cup semifinal on Tuesday. Croatia will be their opponent.

At Lusail Stadium, the defending champions of the Copa America were up 2-0, but Wout Weghorst scored twice to pull the visitors back to a 2-2 tie.

But the saves made by Emiliano Martinez made it possible for Lautaro Martinez to score the game-winning penalty kick in the shootout, which allowed Argentina to advance to the semifinals.

The contest was not played without some degree of contention. While there were scuffles on the touchline and Lionel Messi seemed to confront Oranje coach Louis van Gaal, some of Argentina’s players celebrated loudly in front of the Netherlands squad.

Scaloni, on the other hand, did not believe that his players displayed poor behaviour.

During a news conference, he made the following statement: “The game was played the way we have to play, and both teams did it.”

“I am not persuaded by the notion that unsporting behaviour is acceptable. The referee is in charge of making decisions, but we play with pride and in the manner in which we are required to play. We hold a healthy amount of respect for both the Netherlands and Croatia, as well as all of our other competitors. That’s definitely one of the most prominent aspects of our personality. “Some games, things can happen, arguments, and trying times,” the player said. In order to ensure that there is justice, this is why there is a referee,” he went on to say.
