During the violence that broke out between fans of France and Morocco in Montpellier during the World Cup semifinal, a young lad of 14 years old was slain.

On Wednesday, a youngster was “violently hit” by a car in the city located in the south of France, according to a statement that was published by the local government office, which was reported by sky sport. The statement was made public.

“The investigation is currently underway, and the vehicle was located around where it occurred. A video that was circulated on social media showed throngs of people loitering around a car that was being driven erratically in the street as Moroccan fans rioted in the aftermath of their team’s 0-2 loss to France in the World Cup semifinals “the wording of the statement said.

A number of soccer fans engaged the police in violent confrontations, during which they threw fireworks and other objects, as well as set fire to rubbish bags and cardboard boxes.

In the meantime, confrontations between law enforcement personnel and supporters broke out in the streets of Lyon, which is located to the north of Montpellier.

According to the authorities, there were a total of eight persons arrested and seven police officers injured as a result of the incident.
