After missing the previous 14 games with a painful heel, Chris Paul, a twelve-time All-Star, made his return to the starting lineup for the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night against the Boston Celtics, who are now leading the NBA.

However, it did not give them with the spark they were looking for as the Celtics completely dominated the Suns, leading by as many as 45 points before settling for a victory of 125-98. In 24 minutes of play, Paul was only able to score four points, get four rebounds, and dish out four assists.

However, the 37-year-old did some work during the team’s morning shootaround despite the fact that he was listed as questionable for the game.

After Paul left a game against the 76ers on November 7, the Suns went on to post a record of 9-5 without him. Paul’s absence began in that game. This season, he has appeared in 10 games and is averaging 9.4 assists while scoring a career-low 9.5 points per game.

Cameron Payne has had a strong performance in the absence of Paul, averaging a career-high 13 points while also dishing out 5.8 assists per game.
