Pak vs Eng: England defeated Pakistan in Rawalpindi Test by 74 runs

The first test match of the three-match series took place in Rawalpindi on Monday, with England claiming victory against Pakistan by 74 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

After scoring 657 runs in their first innings, England declared their second innings on 264-7, giving Pakistan an unachievable win goal of 343 runs on a pitch that was very easy to bat on.

In an exciting final session, Pakistan put up a valiant fight and scored a total of 268 runs before being bowled out. Saud Shakeel scored the most runs for Pakistan with 76.

Jack Leach took the winning wicket for England, while James Anderson finished with four wickets for thirty-six and Ollie Robinson finished with four for fifty.

On Friday, the second test will get underway in Multan.
