FIFA World Cup: Many Argentinian fans had become nervous wrecks as France threatened to win the game on multiple occasions.

After a first half in which Argentina led France 2-0 and obviously dominated play, many fans were getting ready to rejoice.

While initially ecstatic, La Albiceleste’s fans quickly began to worry as France closed the gap and Kylian Mbappe scored a hat trick to wipe out the comfortable advantage that Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria had given their team. They ended up with a 3-3 deadlock after extra time.
As a result of a nail-biting shootout, which Argentina won 4-2 on penalties, the match will go down in history as one of the most exciting championship games ever.

I’m speechless! “It was tough, but we did it, due to Messi,” Santiago, 13, who watched the game with his family in Buenos Aires, told Reuters.

As a result of the economic crisis and the resulting spike in inflation, many people in the country have been pushed to the edge of bankruptcy, and a large portion of the population has fallen into poverty since the World Cup triumph was announced.

“It was a wonderful game, at times anguishing,” 46-year-old Diego Aburgeily exclaimed after the victory parade through the outskirts of Buenos Aires.

For the first time in decades, this group has won the hearts of their fans.

As recently as 2014, Argentina competed in the World Cup finals, but ultimately lost to Germany.

Fans yelled, threw their hands in the air, and hugged each other when Gonzalo Montiel scored the game-winning penalty for Argentina on their fourth attempt.

Lawyer Nicolas Piry, 46, exclaimed, “It is an incredible joy after so much strain.”

The question of whether Messi or Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo is the superior player is one of the most heated in football, and its resolution by Messi’s World Cup victory may satisfy some.

Despite all his success, Ronaldo has yet to win a World Cup, and he was eliminated from this year’s competition in Qatar after a heartbreaking semifinal loss to Morocco.
