Following England’s captain Ben Stokes’ decision to bat first, openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett—both of whom scored centuries—took on Pakistan’s bowlers and added 233 runs for the first wicket in just 36 overs.

It should be mentioned that four players are making their Pakistani debuts during the current game.

The pacers Haris Rauf and Mohammad Ali, the leg-spinner Zahid Mehmood, and the batsman Saud Shakeel are among the players making their international debuts for Pakistan.

Pakistan has given Test caps to four players in a single game for the first time since 2003’s encounter in Karachi against Bangladesh.

Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Gul, Shabbir Ahmed, and Yasir Hameed made their international debuts at the Bangladesh Test over two decades ago.

Will Jacks and Liam Livingstone are also making their official debuts for the guests.

Multan (December 9–13) and Karachi will host the final two tests (December 17-21).

After their T20 side played seven matches there two months ago and won the series 4-3, England is on their first Test tour of Pakistan in 17 years.

The Test, England’s first in Pakistan in 17 years, got off to the perfect start with their strong batting after it was threatened on Wednesday when several of the visitors fell ill with an unknown infection.
