During the third ODI between India and Bangladesh, which is now taking place in Chattogram, Ishan Kishan scored the fastest double-century in One-Day International history.

He did it in 126 balls, making him the fourth Indian batsman to reach the double-hundred mark. In the final game of the series, Kishan, who replaced injured skipper Rohit Sharma, struck 24 fours and 10 sixes before being bowled out on the penultimate delivery of the 36th over. People from all walks of life praised the young batter on Twitter after he achieved the 200-run mark.

In 50-over cricket, Chris Gayle had held the world record for the fastest double hundred, which was broken by Kishan. At the 2015 ICC World Cup, Gayle needed 138 deliveries to reach his double hundred against Zimbabwe.

In the three-match series, Bangladesh leads India 0-2 to date.
