New Zealand’s 15-member Test squad announced for Pakistan tour

Leg-spinner Ash Sodhi returns to the Kiwi Test squad after four years. Blair Tickner and Glenn Phillips were also included in the New Zealand squad. Trent Boult has indicated his non-availability for the tour of Pakistan. Tim Southee will lead the New Zealand Test team in the tour of Pakistan.

The team includes Michael Bracewell, Tom Blundell, Devon Conway and Matt Henry. Tom Latham, Daryl Mitchell, Henry Nicholls, Ijaz Patel and Glenn Phillips are also part of the squad. Kane Williamson, Ash Sodhi, Neil Wenger and Will Young are also included in the Kiwi Test squad.

The first Test between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played in Karachi from December 26, and the second in Multan from January 3.

The New Zealand ODI squad for the tour of Pakistan will be announced on December 19.

Kane Williamson steps down as captain of New Zealand’s Test team. Tim Southee will lead the New Zealand Test team for the tour of Pakistan. Tom Latham has been appointed as the vice-captain of the New Zealand Test team.

Kane Williamson will continue to lead the Kiwi cricket team in white-ball cricket. Williamson will also continue to play Test matches as a regular batsman. Kane Williamson led the New Zealand team in forty Test matches. The workload was increased due to the captaincy, hence the decision, of Kane.
