When commentating on the first session, Nasser Hussain stated, “It seems like an absolute road.”

The pitch was described as “extremely flat” by Hussain’s fellow analyst Michael Atherton, who shared a similar viewpoint.

Prior to Thursday’s first Test of the three-match series at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, England had won the toss and chosen to bat first against Pakistan.

England got off to a fast start with scoring 14 runs in Naseem Shah’s first over of bowling. According to David Gower, this was the most runs England had ever scored in a Test’s opening over this century.

The pacers Haris Rauf and Mohammad Ali, the leg-spinner Zahid Mehmood, and the batsman Saud Shakeel are among the Pakistani players making their debuts in this game.

Will Jacks and Liam Livingstone are also making their official debuts for the guests.

Although there is some illness going around the camp, the boys remain really motivated. At the toss, Stokes, the captain of England, commented that the wicket appeared to play well.

On the other hand, Pakistani captain Babar Azam believes that the morning session’s pitch will “benefit the fast bowlers” for “for one and a half hours.”

It was anticipated yesterday that the game may be postponed because several England players were suffering from a viral virus.

The first Test will start as scheduled today (Thursday, 1 December) at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the PCB announced in a brief statement on Thursday morning. “The ECB has notified the PCB that they are in a position to field an XI,” the statement from the PCB read.

After their T20 side played seven matches there two months ago and won the series 4-3, England is on their first Test tour of Pakistan in 17 years.
