Sam Curran and Nat Sciver, two English all-rounders, have been nominated for ICC’s T20I and ODI Player of the Year awards for men and women, respectively.

The 24-year-old Curran was instrumental in England’s victory at the T20 World Cup in Australia last November, taking 13 wickets across six games and earning himself the title of tournament’s most valuable player.
In 2022, he took 25 wickets in 19 T20 internationals and became the most expensive player in IPL history when Punjab Kings paid £1.85m for his services.

Sciver, 30, returned to cricket after taking time off to focus on her mental health and immediately became England’s leading run-scorer in their 3-0 series sweep of the West Indies.

Over the course of the year, Sciver played in 17 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and amassed 833 runs (including two centuries) and 11 wickets.

Curran competes for the Men’s T20I award alongside Suryakumar Yadav of India, Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe, and Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan.

Women’s One-Day International competitors to Sciver include Shabnim Ismail of South Africa, Amelia Kerr of New Zealand, and Alyssa Healy of Australia.
