Following a full Board meeting held via video conference, the Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations (FICA) announced on Thursday that former Pakistan captain Sana Mir has joined its Board as an independent director.

Sana, a former premier off-spinner and team captain for Pakistan’s women’s team who is now a pundit, is regarded as one of the best female cricketers to have come out of the nation.

She holds degrees in mathematics, statistics, and economics and has had a number of ambassadorial positions and activist positions in non-profit organisations outside of cricket.

She stated of her selection to the FICA Board, “I’m pleased to join FICA’s leadership and to give a distinct viewpoint to the world players’ body as it continues to expand, contribute to the game, and advocate for players.

Sana joins the Board of FICA, which currently consists of Tony Irish, who was just reappointed as an independent director. “Sana’s addition to the FICA Board makes us very happy, and we are confident that she will make a significant contribution at this crucial time for all players around the world. Having a voice from Pakistan at our board table is a big and good move for us “added he.

Sana will be a fantastic addition to FICA and players everywhere because of her experience and ongoing participation in the game, and we welcome her to the Board, stated Lisa.
